The Most Inspirational Actresses of 2014

The Hollywood Reporter does this outstanding roundtable interview with some of the most talented and successful actresses whom recently starred in major blockbuster films. The actresses this year included Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern (Wild), Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Hilary Swank (The Homesman), Amy Adams (Big Eyes), Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), and Julianne Moore (Still Alice). During the holiday break I saw Wild and The Theory of Everything. Both films had outstanding acting in them. All of the actresses in these films are undeniably well known and talented. Not only that, but also every actress seems to embody true beauty along with their many successes. This video was inspirational for me, not only because I am a young actress myself, but also seeing what these women have gone through to achieve their success is truly unique and beautiful. My favorite quote from this video is when Amy Adams is asked the question, “What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?” She responds with something so cliche yet so true and powerful as she sings, “Let it go!” from the beloved movie Frozen. As I become closer and closer to turning 20 years old I couldn’t have needed to hear this advice more. So many times I get hung up over little things and learning to simply “let it go” in life is quite important. After all, life is too short to be sad over not getting the part you wanted in the play or not making the cut on a sports team. Remember true success comes when you pick yourself up off your feet and try again. Letting go of the past and focusing on what good lies ahead is one beam of inspiration I saw after watching this video. I hope you all enjoy it too!
